Intermediate Electrical Engineer

Intermediate Electrical Engineer - Birmingham - to £45,000 + package Are you interested in using your building services Electrical Design skills in a role that will also allow you to have an impact on the energy efficiency of the built environment? We are working with a consultancy that align design with energy reduction and the decarbonisation of the built environment, to help them find their next Electrical Engineer. Established over 30 years ago they deliver M&E design consultancy services, energy efficiency, carbon management and cost reduction solutions to their clients across a range of sectors including Commercial, Residential, Education and Industrial. You will be working as part of the electrical design team to deliver projects from feasibility through to construction. This is a technical role and will enable you to work on all parts of the project from upfront strategic planning, right through to project management and implementation. The role will give you the autonomy to lead projects, liaising directly with clients and working on the client's behalf to deliver projects inline with the targeted time scales and energy efficiency requirements. Based in their Birmingham office and working directly with the Principal Engineer, you will be joining and M&E team of 12 engineers. The office is home to 60 employees, newly refurbished and open plan, so you will have the whole team around you for support. Their current team have an average length of service of 8 years, and this is reflective of their commitment to providing a positive environment where people can grow and develop both professionally and personally. What you'll do: Design, specifications, and construction stage project management of electrical projects (all aspects of Electrical Services), this will include all RIBA stages. Ensuring all projects are designed and implemented to meet British Standards and other appropriate legislation. Electrical Services Feasibility Study and Energy Efficiency Reports, including Solar PV, LED Lighting and Electric Vehicle Charging. Attend project meetings. Attend regular Design Department meetings where workload schedules will be planned. Develop good relationships with each team member. Assist with implementing QA procedures for all projects. Assist The Design Manager with the implementation of the Design strategy. What you'll need: Ideally at least 5 years Design experience. Professionally qualified to at least Higher National Certificate Level. Ideally professionally registered with CIBSE and/or IET. Working towards Chartership status (the company would support in this). Experience in Electrical engineering, engineering consultancy and/or Electrical installations Experience in design calculation software packages: AutoCAD, Dialux and Revit (for example) Good working knowledge of industry regulations, Electrical design, and installations Able manage/prioritise workload to meet deadlines whilst maintaining good communication with client and design teams What's in it for you: 23 Days Holiday (Increasing to 25 after 5 years' service) Pension 8% Annual Bonus (KPI related)
